We make these beach anchors. We use an 8lb mushroom anchor, bungee line, a float and a SS clip. These work well when you want to take your dinghy or small boat to the beach but not leave your boat on the shore. Tide's and wave action can leave you stranded or damage your hull. The beach anchor allows you to keep your boat floating just offshore outside of the small breaking waves, when you are ready you just pull your boat in with a line. The way it works is you drop the anchor in the water when you are about 30' from shore.You attach it to your boat with the SS hook which is attached to the bungee line. You then drive your boat on to the beach, unload your gear and people.You tie a long line to the bow of your boat and stand on the beach letting the boat loose. The boat will float out and position itself over the beach anchor. You can then attach the line to a rock or bring a stake to tie it the line. When you are ready to leave just pull the line in and it brings your boat back to you.
